Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 5, 2026
Talent to Teach ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, how we use and share it, and your choices. It is written to reflect our obligations under British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
We are the operator of the Services and act as the party responsible for the personal information described here. Contact: dom@talenttoteach.com.
1. Who this involves — parents and minor athletes
Our customers are parents and guardians who sign up on behalf of minor athletes. The parent/guardian provides information and consent.
- We collect a parent/guardian's information directly from them.
- We collect an athlete's information only from the parent/guardian, and only what the parent chooses to provide. Information about a child under 13 is optional and is collected only if a parent or guardian chooses to give it to us. A parent/guardian may decline and still receive the consultation.
2. Information we collect
You give us:
- Contact details — parent/guardian name, email address, phone number.
- Athlete/questionnaire details — information about the athlete's playing habits, level, and goals that you enter in our intake/free-call form (which may, at the parent's option, include a minor's information).
- Communications — messages you send us and notes from calls.
- Purchase details — records of programs you buy (payment card data is handled by our processor, not us — see Section 4).
Collected automatically when you use the site:
- Usage & device data — IP address, browser/device type, pages viewed, and referring links, via cookies and similar technologies.
- Marketing attribution — UTM parameters and a referral/affiliate identifier stored in a cookie so we can credit the affiliate who referred you.
From third parties (in the future):
- Advertising & analytics platforms — if and when we run ads, tools such as the Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Pixel, TikTok Pixel, and Google Analytics may collect usage data through cookies to measure and target advertising. This section applies once those tools are enabled.
3. Why we use your information (purposes)
- To respond to your inquiry and deliver the free consultation call.
- To provide, personalize, and support the paid programs you buy.
- To process payments and manage subscriptions (through Whop).
- To contact you and, with your consent, to send marketing by email and by phone about our programs.
- To credit affiliates for referrals and administer the affiliate program.
- To measure, analyze, and (in future) advertise the Services.
- To maintain security, prevent abuse, keep access/activity logs, and comply with law.
4. Payment processing (Whop)
Payments are handled by Whop and its payment partners. When you buy, your payment information is provided directly to Whop under Whop's privacy policy. We receive confirmation of purchase and limited details (such as your name, email, and what you bought), not your full card number.
5. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:
- Service providers who process it for us under contract — e.g., Whop (payments), Google Workspace / Google Sheets (storing lead and customer records), and, when adopted, an email/SMS provider and advertising/analytics platforms.
- Affiliates — limited information needed to credit a referral (we do not give affiliates your questionnaire content).
- Legal reasons — to comply with law, enforce our Terms, or protect rights and safety.
- Business transfer — if the business is sold or reorganized, records may transfer as part of that transaction.
6. Storage outside Canada (cross-border notice)
Some of our providers — including Google and Whop — may store or process information on servers located in the United States or other countries. As a result, your information may be subject to the laws of those countries. By using the Services, you acknowledge this cross-border storage. You may contact us for more information about how we handle information stored outside Canada.
7. Cookies & similar technologies
We use cookies to run the site (including the affiliate referral cookie and session cookies), remember preferences, and — in future — measure and target advertising. You can control cookies through your browser settings; blocking some cookies may affect how the site works. Where required, we will present a cookie/consent notice before enabling advertising or analytics cookies.
8. Marketing communications & your consent (CASL)
- We send marketing email and make marketing phone calls only in accordance with your consent and applicable law, including Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) and telemarketing rules (CRTC / National Do Not Call List).
- Every marketing email will identify us and include an unsubscribe link, and (as CASL requires) a valid physical mailing address.
- You can withdraw consent at any time — unsubscribe from emails, or tell us at dom@talenttoteach.com to stop calling. We will honour requests promptly.
9. Your privacy rights
Under BC PIPA and PIPEDA you may:
- Access the personal information we hold about you and your athlete;
- Request correction of inaccurate information;
- Withdraw consent to marketing or to optional collection (subject to legal or contractual limits);
- Ask questions or make a complaint about how we handle information.
To exercise these rights, email dom@talenttoteach.com. We may need to verify your identity. If you are not satisfied, you may contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
10. Retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above, to run the business, and to meet legal obligations, after which we securely delete or de-identify it.
11. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Children
We do not knowingly collect information from a child directly. Any information about a minor is provided by, and collected with the consent of, a parent or guardian, and is optional (see Section 1). A parent/guardian may review, correct, or ask us to delete their child's information at any time.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date shows the latest version. Material changes will be communicated where appropriate.
